This is part 4 of a mini-series called "Refreshing Ideas," containing examples of marketing strategies different businesses have used.
First National Bank & Daily Knead, a regionally franchised bagel shop, partner together over 12 months to prepare over 500 bagged breakfasts that are then distributed to soup kitchens, shelters, and missions throughout the counties in each location they serve. Volunteers assemble, pack, and then deliver the meals each month. The organizations wanted a collection of products they could hand out to these volunteers as a thank you as well as a way to make it easier to hand out meals.
-One thing volunteers are required to do is record names and quantities of distributed meals. A pen made from wheat was chosen because of its association with bagels as well as in support of their environmental initiatives.
